the model set out to explore the possible friction in that a sound festival will not necessarily be welcomed by open arms by the whole of a town, therefore can i become more attractive to those who might otherwise be dissenters who see it as a nuisance? the project must consider not just the reintegration of youth groups with the more entrenched aging population in howa huta, but also be sensitive to those who would not wish to see their town ‘taken over’ for a month

back in krak

turned up lateish in krakow, at rynek 7 again, to be greeted by hilarity and american-tinged polish from the receptionist who are having a glorious time as there’s just me and a lone greek staying. as a result of which i’m now on the upper floor as they’ve shut the bunks, where it turns out there’s a quote painted on the wall from a book i’ve read by murakami, author of another book i’ve brought with me…… does that count as interdependence? or just coincidence i think…damn

locations mapped on – coloured by season, sized by duration… dublin has an obvious and high concentration within an area of pubs, sheffield is more spread out (fewer festivals that i can find?), nowa huta has very few locations, but krakow has tons…

a ‘construction’ a thing, place or situation made of comprised of both physical and mental various experiential elements, which is most importantly something that depends on experienceing it for it to really exist – such as James Turrell’s light installations that exist fully only in the experience of the viewer as they rely on the qualities of light as viewed through human experience of the light spectrum.
[addition] a provisional construction is suggestive. it sets up a series of conditions allowing/encouraging an event/happening/place to exist and sustains itself in this without reliance on physical concepts of permanencce but with reliance on experience – once or repeated…
